
Services for Adults
While Cathie has a special interest in stroke recovery; she also provides services to adults who have experienced other neurological conditions, such as traumatic brain injuries, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.

Services may also be provided to those who stutter or those who speak English as an additional language. These will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Therapy may focus on the following:

Aphasia
A language deficit which may impact any or all of the following: speaking, writing, reading, understanding
​
Dysarthria
A speech deficit caused by weakened muscles which may result in imprecise articulation (slurred speech) or poor breath support (weak or varied loudness in voice)

Apraxia of speech
A speech (motor planning) deficit which may result in difficulty sequencing sounds and words
​
Cognitive communication deficits
Difficulty with skills such as memory, thought organization, problem solving
​
Dysphagia
Difficulty swallowing
​
Accent reduction
Or difficulties with English as an additional language
​
Stuttering
Dysfluent speech
